Main road II and A-7 motorway, facilitate access towards our city, which its many attractions, has sand beaches end of which some are not very deep: d' another share it offers a broad
range of leisures and entertainments, culture, folklore, ventures and sport.
L' Escala is a village of sinners, located on the littoral of l' Empordà with extreme south of the Gulf of Pinks. Its dimension extends since the "Grauet d' Empuries" (old ambouchure of
the Fluvià river) with north, with the headland of Montgo in the south. L' Escala offers a great diversity of landscapes and settlements: modern centers close to the sea, the old city (casc
antic), the medieval village of St Marti d' Empuries and other small hamlets strengthened such as Cinc claus, the hamlet of Corts, Vilanera and Els Recs.
This privileged situation and its natural environment converted l' Escala in a very known tourist place. The littoral of l' Escala, with its not very major sand beaches end and its
picturesque splits, constitutes a collective inheritance and a place very appreciated by all its visitors. L' Escala has a very varied retail park. Small shops of the center of the village, l'
avenue Montgo or Passeo de Riells; as well as the market of Sunday, deserve the visit. The festivals belong to the tradition and l' history of l' Escala. Through time, certain habits changed, but
the majority of the festivals are always alive: the Carnival, the concerts d' summer, the festival of the co. Carmen, the festival of l' anchoie, the meeting of the giants and the day of the
sardane.
The gastronomy is one of the basic activities of our village, its prestige made known in all the country vegetables and meats of the area, fish of this sector of the Mediterranean and
especially famous the anchoies of l' Escala, dish become obligatory for all the gourmets. L' Escala accomodates the one of the oldest and traditional industries, inherited our ancestors the

Fly to Girona, Barcelona or Perpignan, and you will be met at the airport.
